What is flag-rugby?

Flag-Rugby is a variant of Rugby XV that one can see on television, in which contacts are forbidden. Each player wears a belt with two scratched flags, when the ball carrier has a flag ripped off by an opponent, he must stop running and pass to a teammate. This phase of play replaces the tackles of traditional rugby.

Why is this inclusive?

Rugby is by nature one of the most inclusive sports. Indeed when one looks at rugby, one can notice that the players are all physically different. Tall ones, small ones, fat ones, thin ones mingle with different missions on the field but a common team objective; everyone has their place!

This new partnership between the Trajets Foundation and the Rugby Club de Genève Plan-Les-Ouates allows lovers of this sport and/or people wishing to discover it to regularly meet around the oval ball in safety.

Inclusion is "the state of something that is included in a whole, a set." By allowing the athletes benefiting from the Trajets Foundation to include themselves in the local associative fabric, the Sporting club promotes a valued recognition through belonging, vector of mental health recovery.

What is the foundation trajets?

Trajets is a social enterprise committed for more than 40 years in :

  • The specific support of people living with mental disorders.

  • Social and professional integration towards maximized autonomy.

"Respect and solidarity, fundamental values in rugby, are also the beacons that guide the actions of any social worker engaged in inclusion processes. It was therefore natural that I participate in the meeting of these two worlds."

Samuel Avvenenti, Head of Sporting Club Trips and GEPLO player
